Vilnius TV Tower

Hello guys, today we visited one of the highest building in Lithuania: the Vilnius Television Tower. Its height is 326.5m and the building occupies 3,355m². The construction of this building started in 1974 precisely on May 31st. The designers of this beautiful monument are the architect Vladimir Obydov and by the engineers David Basiladze and David Dorman. The TV Tower transmit radio and TV signals and data for provision of the Internet and other services. Furthermore, the TV Tower is a place for leisure and entertainment, at the 19th stage there is a fancy restaurant where we can appreciate the beautiful view of the all the capital. In addition, it witnessed Lithuania’s struggle for freedom. Indeed, the TV tower is a true symbol of freedom and struggle for independence for the Lithuanian people. On January 13th 1991 the Tower was a witness of tragic events, 12 people were killed this night at the foot of the Vilnius TV Tower. The names of all the victims of the night are marked on a smell granite obelisks near to the TV Tower
